The Hardwick Hall "Guests for Dinner"  mural was commissioned and unveiled 2008 from the artist Mel Holmes. Mel Holmes graduated from Norwich School of Art in 1992 with a Ba Hons Degree in Graphic design. After several years studying and reproducing Old Masters paintings, Mel specialized in Murals and Trompe L'oeil painting in 1998.
His work has taken him throughout the UK, the Middle East and Bermuda. Projects have included large scale shopping Malls, Hotels, Restaurants and numerous private houses.
Mel's skills in the technique of marouflage (painting on canvas to be applied to walls) allow very large murals to be completed in the studio, eliminating time and disturbance on location.

The Hardwick Marouflage depicts a sense of the history, good times, wine and food. Long associations and friendships with the owners, The Adamson Family, Prime Minister Tony Blair (MP Sedgefield), the local community especially the farming and racing fraternity.

Michael Adamson (Proprietor of Hardwick Hall Hotel and the Ramside Estates Group) with Tony Blair, Ex. Prime Minister and local MP.
Rita and Martin Geronimo long time and respected employees at Hardwick Hall.
John Adamson, Managing Director (in blue).
Good friends and customers Chris Dawson, Robin Ward, Freddie Watson, John Wade (in colours) Frank & Dennis Craggs
